2 Chapter I: Phraseology as a branch of linguistics in literary works

The material of the research work was based on theories and concepts of linguists in the sphere of phraseological units, dictionaries, original text of the selected novel.
Approbation of the work. The main findings of the research work were analysed and published in the following articles:

In addition, the research work was discussed at the Annual Conferences and at the meeting of the Department of English and literature and was recommended for defence.
The scientific novelty of the research work is concluded in the fact that the phraseological units are analyzed on the base of comparison with the Uzbek language. The comparative approach enables to research the semantic components well as the peculiarities of the phraseological in the literary works.
The theoretical significance of the research is that the theoretical results of the paper can be used in delivering lectures on lexicology, stylistics and theory of translation.
The practical significance of the research can serve as a material at the lessons and seminars on lexicology, stylistics, typology, translations.
The structure of the research work. The work consists of Introduction, Three chapters, Conclusion and Bibliography. Introduction gives root to the choice of the theme of the research, determines the aim and the tasks of the research points out the language material of the methods of its analyses, the practical value of the research and indicates the perspective for the further investigation in this sphere.
Chapter I is devoted to study phraseology as a branch of linguistics, the historical development and the main types of phraseological units, and phraseological units in the literary works.
Chapter II investigates the translation peculiarities and complications in translating of phraseological units and their translation ways into Uzbek.
Chapter III presents the study of the approaches and strategies of literary translation, the translation peculiarities of phraseological units from English into Uzbek in the example of the novel “The Old Man and the Sea” by Ernest Hemingway.
In the conclusion part there pointed out the importance of the research and the information about the significant results of the work. Bibliography directs us to the list at all literature we have used while carrying out the given research work.
