Answer the questions.
Why do you think people have telephone conversations? Think about the following ideas.
• where they telephone
• what they usually have a phone talk about
• why they want to ring up someone
• who they usually ring up?
In the developed world of technology people are practically inseparable from phones and they usually talk on the phone for days on end usually they call their friends
What do you think is the most important reason for people to phone each other? Why?
SPEAKING
Work in pairs. Discuss the questions.
1 Do you prefer speaking on the phone or in person?
2 Have you ever made a call or taken a message in English? What happened?
I use mobile phone call to my relstivies and families or friends .
I reseive calls and send message to others I often play games on my phone and listen to music .
Work in groups. You are going to plan 24 hours in a city of your choice. Plan your day in detail. Try to include areas that only locals would know about. Use questions 1-6 to help you.
1 Which city are you planning to visit? I plan to visiy to the new York
2 What are you going to do there? I want to theatre
3 How are you going to get around? I want travel by car
4 What are you going to eat/drink? Where? I want to eat very tasty food and drink white wine.
5 What are you planning for the evening? I want to travel with my family in the evening
6 What is going to make the day special? I think my day can make everything that I have listened above special
