Formulation of the problem: in the wake of the rapidly growing interest in Cossack subjects, there 
was a need to create a unified Cossack educational structure that summarizes all historical information and 
current trends in the popularization of scientific knowledge about the Cossacks and which considers it both a 
historical and contemporary phenomenon for education. The NGO “Kiev Academy of Cossacks” became 
this organization and created a large-scale historical and ethno-cultural project “Cossacks as a social 
estate and ethno-cultural community”.
Analysis of recent research and publications: the role of the Cossacks in the spiritual development of 
the Ukrainian and other Slavic peoples was certainly important and very significant. In recent decades, 
studies of the Cossack heritage, the study of the formation of the education system of Zaporozhye and other 
Cossacks, and Cossack pedagogy as a whole, have appeared and began to develop in Ukraine. Cossacks are 
devoted to the scientific works of many modern scientists of Ukraine, near and far abroad, namely: O. M. 
Apanovich, S. A. Auski, B. F. Vedmedka, A. A. Gordeev, O. T. Gubko, B. C. Zadunaysky, T. Kalyandruk, V. 
G. Kuz, Y. Mitsyk, I. Ogienko, N. Polyakov, E. N. Prystupa, Yu. G. Rudenko, M. G. Stelmakhovich, B. M.
Stuparik, T. G. Tairova-Yakovleva, F. G. Turchenko, O. M. Ulyshchenko, I. F. Fedorenko, T. Chukhlib, G. 
K. Shvydko and others. Information on Cossacks in general is introduced into the history programs for 
secondary general, specialized, vocational and higher educational institutions of Ukraine [4; 8]. At the same 
time, we would like to point out that the results of our large-scale studies [1] of different segments of our
