 Minutes of Brooksville Friends and Neighbors July 3, 2013

Discussions
        A. The Brooksville Community Memorial Walk will take place on July 21st Sunday at 8:30 start at North Brooksville, north end of the Varnumville Road. We discussed moving the day and time for church goers but Saturdays are too busy, too much traffic. Sunday afternoons can be too hot and too busy as well. This is a spiritual moment to remember those who have died in 2012. I guess until we find a better solution, church goers will have to decide which to attend. All are welcome. We have sent letters to the families to invite them. Thank you, Anne Ferrara. This is our third annual community event which was inspired four years ago to honor Michael Bernal, who was tragically killed on the Varnumville Road.

        B. Joan presented the update on the Young's Point Road Trail accessible for wheel-chair or walkers and strollers and tricycles. The application is due Aug 1st and she presented her draft. Allen Abrahamson is willing to assist us with the project and brings much expertise to the group. The question of trail upkeep was raised and will need to be address. The discussion continued on possible local fund sources for the project. First priority now is to get application to the National Park Service Trails, Rivers, Assistance Program. We will need three letters of support and hope to get these from Allen Abrahamson, Brian Keegstra, John Gray(representing the town) and Jason Lepper.
