If you are planning on burning any kind of structure, the Board of Supervisors request that you contact both the Sugarcreek Fire Department (724-526-5433) and the Non-Emergency 911 (724-548-3225) and notify them of your plans. The Fire Department may be willing to be available to supervise any intended burning of structures, brush piles, etc. The Board of Supervisors are requesting this act due to several instances where an intentional fire has been called into 911 and the fire departments from various areas are dispatched, leaving other areas prone if there is a structure fire with people still in the burning building while the crews are responding to the intentional fire. The Board of Supervisors "Thank You" in advance for your cooperation in this matter.
Due to recent changes involving the Red Cross, Sugarcreek Township is looking for volunteers. In the event of an emergency, Sugarcreek Township Volunteer Fire Department is the designated emergency center. With the recent changes it is now the responsibility of the Township to provide man power to the center. There is a sign-up sheet located at the Township building. You can also call and inform the secretary that you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the emergency center.
The Sugarcreek Township Zoning Hearing Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday November 26, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the Sugarcreek Township Building. The Board will consider a Special Exception Application from MDS Energy Development, LLC. of Kittanning, Pa in regards to a Marcellus Shale (Deep Gas) well, being drilled at the property belonging to the Hilltop Beagle Club and adjoining properties in Sugarcreek Township. Oral or written comments will be received from interested parties until 1:00 pm on Thursday November 21, 2013 by the Township Zoning Officer, who can be reached at 724-526-3261 or via email at [e-mail]. If there are no comments or concerns which the Township has the authority to rule over in regards to the well, then the hearing will not be held in accordance with the Sugarcreek Township Zoning Ordinances.

The Sugarcreek Community Park is now taking reservations for the hall and pavilion rental for the 2014 season, contact Janice at [phone]. Volunteers are always welcome. Committee meetings are held the first Thursday at 7 pm at the hall in the park.

The Sugarcreek Community Park is campaigning for donations to replace the playground equipment with new updated and safer equipment to do so we would like reach out to the community and ask for any donation they can give. Not only to improve the playground but to bring a better and safer place for the children to come, we have an anonymous donation toward playground equipment up to $6,000.00 with a match but only have until March of 2014 to raise the matching funds for it. We have been trying to improve the playground for several years please send donations to Sugarcreek Twp. Park c/o Jan Cannon 260 Glynn Road, Chicora, PA 16025. Also, any ideas for fundraisers for the park would be appreciated!

The Sugarcreek Ladies Auxiliary is having a quilt raffle on November 8, 2013. Tickets are a $1.00 donation and may be purchased by contacting member of the Ladies Auxiliary or Wanda Rottman, who may be contacted at [phone].
Sugarcreek Volunteer Fire Department is looking for Volunteers, social, active or inactive members. If interested, please see a fireman for an application.

East Brady Youth Football would like to thank the Sugarcreek Community, including the local supervisors and volunteers who form the park board, for allowing us the opportunity to offer the youth programming at the Sugarcreek Community Park. The East Brady Youth Football Program is strongly committed to helping the youth in this area become the next leaders of this community. We can only be successful with the support of everyone who lives, works and plays in this community. The success of our program and the future of this community starts with each and every person who contributed their time and energy to promote this safe and supported youth activity! It is through all of our hard work and dedication that the solid tradition of this community continues and by offering a structured activity to our youth is one of the ways we can pass these traditions forward. It is with excitement and gratitude that we thank you and we look forward to another upcoming great year starting summer of 2014.

CALENDAR OF EVENTS
Sugarcreek Firemen hold Bingo every Tuesday at 7 PM at their hall on Rodgers Road. Early Bird games begin at 7 PM. Doors open at 6 PM.
Food bank is the last Tuesday of every month at the Sugarcreek Fire hall. Contact Community Action to sign up at (724)-548-3408. The American Legion Cowansville Post is the Food Bank pick up site for Washington Township residents. Volunteers welcome at Sugarcreek site.
The Township Monthly Meetings of the Supervisors will be held at the township building at 7 PM on first Monday of the month.
The Sugarcreek Community Park Committee Meeting is held at 7 PM the first Thursday of the month at the park hall.
The Sugarcreek Firemen Meeting is held at 7:00 PM the second Monday of every month at the fire hall. The Sugarcreek Ladies Auxiliary Meeting is held at 1:00 PM the second Tuesday of every month at the fire hall.
A Turkey Party will be held at the Sugarcreek Fire Hall on November 8^th.
Cub Scout Pack 200 will host an All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast on November 9^th from 9-11 am at St. Paul’s Community Church.
On November 9 the Cub Scouts Pack 200 will be hosting an event at St. Paul’s Community Church to make apple butter and would like to invite church & community members to attend. If anyone would be willing to tell old stories about making it in the past or about past scouting experiences, that would be great. They will also be working on scout skills that day. St. Paul’s Community Church will be hosting its last spaghetti dinner of the year on Tuesday, November 12. Meal includes Spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Cost is $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. Take outs are available for an additional fee. All proceeds benefit the mission fund.
Frogtown Community Center will host a Snowflake Karaoke Night on November 16 from 7-10 pm. Great family friendly event with refreshments and kid prizes.
