Beruni district is a district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. It was founded on July 3, 1927. The area is 3.94 thousand km². The population is 94.7 thousand people (2000). In Beruni (district) there is 1 city (Beruni) and 11 auls (Beruni, Biybozor, Dustlik, Navoi, Ozod, Oltinsoy, Sarkop, Tinchlik, Shabboz, Shimom, Qizilqalʼa). Center — Beruni city

Nature of the beruni

• Nature.
• In the north of Beruni (district) there is the Kyzylkum desert, in the west there is the Baday grove and the Sultan Uvays mountain. The average temperature in January is -15 °, -20 °, and in July 28 °. Annual precipitation is 100–200 mm. The Amudarya flows through the district.

“sulton uvays bobo” SHRINE

Sultan Uvays Bobo complex is an architectural monument in Beruni district Fans of his followers built a symbolic tomb and a shrine in the 17th century. The mausoleum of Sultan Baba is located in the northern part of the courtyard, which was later built (mostly domed) and surrounded by a brick wall.

The tomb of Sultan Uvays Bobo is not only a favorite place of the people in the lower reaches of the Amu Darya, but also a tourist center.

POPULATION AND ECONOMY

• Population, basically Uzbeks; Karakalpaks, Kazakhs, Turkmens, Tatars, Russians and other nationalities also live there.
• Economy. The Beruni (district) economy is dominated by cotton growing, so the district industry also specializes in the processing of raw cotton. There are ginneries, oil mills, reinforced concrete, brick and asphalt plants.

Livestock, silkworm breeding, horticulture and melon growing are also developed. There are 54 small enterprises and 27 cooperatives, 15 joint-stock companies, 47 firms, 33 private enterprises in the district (2000). The most important of them are: ginnery, private enterprise "Temur", 28 automobile enterprises, joint-stock company "Yoggar" and others.

CONDITIONS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

All the necessary conditions for the education of young people have been created in our district. For example, libraries, Youth Center, Information Resource Center, Palace of

established.
