Message from Club President Maria M. Kalapati: Water & Sanitation Month

More than 2.5 billion people lack access to adequate sanitation facilities. At least 3,000 children die each day from diarrheal diseases caused by unsafe water. Our projects give communities the ability to develop and maintain sustainable water and sanitation systems and support studies related to water and sanitation. See what our District is doing to engage awareness. As a club, we will be donating towards an ongoing District clean water project on March 9th, when District Chair, Ron Myers will be attending our meeting and discussing the Clean Water and Sanitation project the District has chosen to undertake.

From our District Governor Cyndi Doragh’s Report

The calendar is full of amazing opportunities for Rotarians to engage.  District 6960 has a proven track record of success when it comes to raising the necessary funds to support clean water and sanitation around the world. We are privileged to have George Lewis and Ron Myers lead our District.  What are You doing to help? For starters, I'll be joining Sally Smith and the Walk for Water on April 23, raising awareness for clean water and sanitation around the world.  Walk for Water is hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Estero, Bonita Springs Noon and Bonita Springs Morning.

Happy Birthday to: Dean McConville – March 6th.

A Message from our President of Rotary International, K.R. Ravindran

We in Rotary aspire to great deeds. We admire those who gave great gifts to humanity: Abraham Lincoln, who gave the gift of human dignity to the downtrodden; Mother Teresa, who gave the gift of compassion to the forgotten; Mahatma Gandhi, who gave the gift of peaceful change to the oppressed. Their very lives became gifts to the world.

What we give through Rotary becomes a gift to us. And we all have a choice: whether to keep our gifts to ourselves or give them to others, and Be a Gift to the World.”

Our focus this year:

New Generations: Working closely with Interact

Membership: Target of 5 members or more….

Fundraisers: Total of 2 for the year

Service: Dictionary, Homeless Coalition, Literacy projects, Josh the Otter Program

Foundation: Support of the Annual Program and Polio Eradication

Do not follow where the path may lead…go instead where there is no path and leave a trail”
