2006 NEWSLETTER

MAY MEETING (Swap Night)

The May meeting will be our Annual Swap Night starting at 7:30 PM at the Nature Center building at Mount Aetna Camp and Retreat Center on May 18, 2006.

In addition to the swap night activities we have the honor of Professor Raymond P. Morgan II presenting “Perspectives on Appalachian Brook Trout”. Professor Morgan is a professor with the Appalachian Laboratory, University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science at Frostburg, MD. With recent emphasis on the native brook trout in the Catoctin Mountain area this presentation is timely and informative.
We will also have some tables set up downstairs in the Nature Center for those who have items to swap. It is not too late to participate in the fly swap, but you must contact Buz if you wish to do so and sign up for this activity so we can ensure there are enough flies to go around. Everyone who signs up will be required to tie the number of trout or bass flies equal to the number of people in the activity. Then those individuals will bring their flies to swap night and give and receive one fly from each participating individual.

So far Sterling “Buz” Buzzell, Bill Lewis, Ned Strange, Mike Saylor, John DeMars, Doug Hutzell, Brett Billings, and Don Fine have signed up.
