If the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy hadn't already been finished, the rock'n'folk band BRIAN would have been a serious candidate for the movie soundtrack. And not just because they have taken some Tolkien poems and set them to music

The band's folkloristic touch can best be heard in Brian's melodic vocals and solos. However, it would not do them justice to simply stick them in the next "Irish Folk" separator at your local record shop - the band's influences are much more diverse.
Besides the Irish-celtic lines you will also find other grooving rock elements and infectious African rhythms in the band's music - ultimately resulting in BRIAN's unique style.
The band's instrumentation is equally, if not even more multi-faceted. Mandolin, electric fiddle and recorder skillfully combine their elements with electric guitar, bass and drums. Brian may very well be one of the first folk rock bands to have the African djembe at center stage.
The band's potential for creating hits is best illustrated by their spectrum ranging from romantic spheric sounds to powerful and rhythmic titles.
