13/14& Under Rules:

• 
  7 inning games or 1 hour 45 minutes
  
• 
  80-foot bases (leading off and stealing allowed)
  
• 
  54- foot pitcher’s mound (balk rule enforced)
  
• 
  On offensive, we will be using High School rules or EH (10 hitters) or bat the bench roster
  
• 
  8 run mercy after 4 at bats
  
• 
  2 new baseballs per game
  

Pitching Rules:

• 
  Pitchers allowed 12 innings maximum for tournament
  
• 
  Pitchers allowed 7 innings maximum per day
  

Tiebreaker:

1. 
   Best record in pool.
   
2. 
   Head to head
   
3. 
   Runs scored minus runs allowed. (No more than 10 runs for a victory or a loss)
   
4. 
   Least runs allowed.
   
5. 
   Coin-flip.
   

Birth Certificates and rosters required for all players and teams (15-man maximum roster for tournament). Players turning 15 years of age before 5/01/14 are INELIGIBLE. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Please keep in mind that although this is a competitive tournament and we encourage “hard, fair” baseball, we also would ask that you refrain from any taunting or arguing. Please bring all complaints to the tournament director or the home plate umpire for your game.
To keep cost low, we will be having concessions during the tournament. We will have full menus, snacks and drinks. Please support our efforts. THANK YOU!

Congratulations on your invitation to the most exciting, innovative youth baseball tournament of our time. The John Smoltz Baseball Tournament bears the name of one of Lansing’s great baseball players. This tournament was created with his lifelong dedication to the youth of the Lansing Area.
Tournament Information:
Dates: June 6^th-8^th, 2014
Located: 40 & 8 Baseball Complex, Lansing, Michigan – at 2949 South Waverly (1/2 block south of Miller Road)
Cost: $425.00 team, plus 2 new baseballs per game. Includes gate fee.

Tournament Format:

The format is Pool Play with 3 games guaranteed. (In case of bad weather situations reimbursement is as follows: Play only 1 game, reimbursed 2/3; Play only 2 games, reimbursed 1/3. In case of rain, the tournament director will determine the remainder of the tournament.)

Medal Round – top 2 teams for each pool will advance to semi-finals of single elimination tournament.

**During Bracket play top seed is home, if game is tied on brackets, International rules apply- where the last out of the pervious inning goes to 2^nd base with 1 out to start the inning.

The Championship Games will be held on Sunday.

Tiebreaker information will be provided before the start of the Tournament.
1^st and 2^nd place awards will be given to teams and individuals.
