The first bar graph provides information about the percentages of students of different age groups choosing to study for two main reasons, while the second chart indicates how employer support is shared among those age profiles.

It can be seen from the first chart that as the age of students increases, the reason for interests goes up parallel, whereas the reason for career goes down. To be clear, the percentage of students choosing to study for career is 80 % among 26 or less year olds and it declines as the age rises, reaching less than 20 % among over 49 year olds. However, the pattern is complete reverse when it comes to the reason for interest. Here, the figure for students rises from 10 % to 70 %.

It is worth noting from the second column chart that the youngest group of employees got the highest amount of support (70%) from their employers and this amount continues to go down for the middle aged people, being 30 %. Since then on, it started to increase as the workers get older.



The amount of spending on food decreased from 44 % in 1966 to 14 % in 1996, compared with the expenses on cars, where it roughly doubled, reaching 45 % in 1996.
