On behalf of Humanities Korea Plus (HK+) Project Team, Institute for Theological Studies, 

Anyang University, I would like to inform you about the International Conference on 

Multilingual Dictionaries on the Silk Road, scheduled for 5 February 2021. This conference 

will be held through Zoom meetings hosted by the HK+ Project Team at Anyang University, 

Korea. 

 

From ancient times, the so-called Silk Road trade route has been the site of the civilizational 

exchange between the East and the West. In particular, interchange between scholars in 

academic fields including philosophy, literature, religion and science was possible on the Silk 

Road because of the use of lingua francas and the compilation of multilingual dictionaries. 

This conference will introduce the diverse polyglot dictionaries composed from the 11th to 

19th centuries in Central Asia, and then discuss a range of topics related to the  dictionaries 

such as translation technique, circulation of the dictionaries, translational exchanges between 

languages, etc.   

 

I would kindly like to ask you to present your paper in this conference, discussing polyglot 

dictionaries and literatures in Central Asia on Silk Road. I thank you so much in advance for
