FSA TESTING

FSA testing will begin on March 30^th and run through April 26^th for students in grades 3, 4 and 5. Please keep in mind the following tips in order to give your child his or her best opportunity for success:

• 
  Encourage a good night’s sleep
  
• 
  Dress comfortably
  
• 
  Encourage your child to read every question carefully and eliminate the known wrong answers if a question is difficult
  

Testing will begin each morning at 8:50, so please make every effort to arrive at school on time. It is important to note that if a student begins a session and needs to leave campus without finishing (due to an appointment, illness, etc.), he or she will not be allowed to complete that session. Please make every effort to schedule appointments on dates that are not designated as FSA testing days. Testing dates are as follows:

March 30^th & 31^st April 1^st

FSA Reading - Grades 3 FSA Math–Grade 3&4

FSA Math – Grade 4

April 4^th April 11^th & 12^th

FSA Math – Grade 3 & 4 FCAT Science –Grade 5

FSA Reading – Grade 4 April 18^th & 19^th April 25^th & 26^th

FSA Reading – Grade 5 FSA Math – Grade 5

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION DAY

MONDAY, MAY 2, 2016

Media Center - 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Kindergarten Registration Requirements:

-5 years old on or before September 1, 2015

-Birth certificate

- Social Security Card

-Health examination – HRS Form 3040

-HRS Certificate of Immunization

-Proof of residency (current electric bill, lease agreement or notarized statement of residency)

Note – YOUR CHILD CANNOT START SCHOOL UNLESS YOU PROVIDE THE ITEMS LISTED ABOVE. In order for us to process your registration, ALL the above information must be submitted.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION

Marlowe Elementary School would like to recognize all of our volunteers. April 11^th–15^th is Volunteer Appreciation Week. We truly appreciate the dedication and commitment that our volunteers give to our school. “We could not do what we do without you!”

Every year the District School Board of Pasco County’s volunteer program asks each school to select an “Outstanding Peer, Adult and RSVP Volunteer of the Year.” This year, Alex Jarnagin, Barbara Cornell and Jackie Deck were selected to represent Marlowe Elementary School.

Marlowe Elementary would like to thank all the students who volunteer as peer volunteers. We love our student Earth Patrol Volunteers!

PTO NEWS

The PTO is looking forward to the upcoming Hollywood Spectacular Family Dance on April14th. We will have many different gift baskets that you could win. Keep an eye out for the flyer for more details on the dance!

There is an upcoming Dairy Queen Night on April 28^th. Please plan to come support the school at this fundraiser. If you aren’t able to come in, you can go through the drive thru and still support the school. Flyers will be sent home. Make sure to bring yours with you to turn in when ordering.

DENTAL VAN

Marlowe Elementary will be visited by the Mobile Dental Bus “Smile Care A Van” on April 25^th, April 26^th, April 27^th for students in Kindergarten, 1^st and 2^nd grades. Dental services will be available at no cost. Permission is required from parent and forms were sent home before Thanksgiving break. If you need a form, please ask at the office.

NEW PORT RICHEY LIBRARY OPEN HOUSE

The New Port Richey Public Library at 5939 Main Street will be holding an Open House Breakfast for the community on April 15^th from 9:00 am- 11:00 am.

An extra big thank you to the ladies of Delta Kappa Gamma who have donated a book for every student to help them with their reading.  Delta Kappa Gamma is an educational society made up of current classroom teachers as well as retirees.  One of their goals is to increase the love of reading in every student.
