EAST BUTLER FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS GUIDELINES


ALL EAST BUTLER FOUNDATION HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS

SEE GUIDELINES BELOW:
1. The scholarship checks from the Foundation will be made in one payment payable to the student and the college they are attending and the checks will be mailed directly to the college.

2. Applications must be completed by April 1, (Graduation Year). Deadline for claiming the scholarships would be March 1 following the year of graduation.

3. Scholarship funds will be distributed upon proof of first quarter or first semester college grades with a minimum GPA of 2.5. An official transcript must be mailed to:

4. One official transcript will satisfy the requirements for any additional scholarships for which you are qualified.

5. It is strongly suggested you notify the Foundation of the submission of your official transcript by email at ebutlerfoundation@ebutler.esu7.org. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

6. If any of these criteria are NOT met, you will be disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.

East Butler Common Application

Instructions

The following common application, along with any supplements, is required for the scholarships listed below. These scholarships are available for East Butler high school seniors that plan to attend a 2-4 year college, unless otherwise stated. The common application, along with required supplemental applications, needs to be filled out, printed off and submitted to the School Counselor by April 1st.

The criteria for eligibility for each of the scholarships are as follows:

Wake

1. One $2000 Scholarship, One Alternate

2. Recommendation required from Principal, School Counselor or Teacher
Ted Aerts Memorial Scholarship

1. Two $1000 Scholarships, Two Alternates

2. Grade Point Average in top ½ of class
3. Be involved in at least two extra-curricular activities in both junior and senior year

4. There is a written essay to be arranged by the guidance counselor


Mari Pesek Math & Science Scholarship

1. One $1000 Scholarship, One Alternate

2. Must have passed 4 full years of Science and 3 full years of Math through Pre-Calculus

3. Graduate in the top ½ of the class

4. Be involved in at least 2 extra-curricular activities throughout high school
Arthur & Virginia Hoffbauer Memorial Scholarship

1. One $1000 Scholarship, One Alternate

2. Awarded to Senior who has Demonstrated Exceptional Community Service and Leadership Qualities

3. Minimum GPA of 2.5

4. Graded 10% Class Rank; 30% Personal Statement & Essays; 60% Volunteer Service & Involvement
The Phyllis & Gerald Swanda-EBF Matching Funds Scholarship

1. One $1000 Scholarship, One Alternate

2. Will be attending a Tech/Trade School
Career Start--EBF Matching Funds Scholarship

1. One $1000 Scholarship, One Alternate

2. Minimum GPA of 2.5

3. Will be attending a 2 Year Technical or Trade School


Fortik Technical-EBF Matching Funds Scholarship

1. One $1000 Scholarship, One Alternate

2. Minimum GPA of 2.5

3. Attending a 2 or 4 Year Technical/Trade School


Foundation Scholarship

1. Two $250 Scholarships, Two Alternates

2. Grade Point Average in the top ½ of class
Foundation Brick Scholarship

1. Two $250 Scholarships, Two Alternates

2. Priority will be given to those students whose intended field of study will be in the “building trades” (i.e. carpenter, electrician, engineer, etc.) or fields that often receive training at a trade school.

3. Applicant must have a minimum of a C average



Foundation Golf Scramble Scholarship

1. Amount of the scholarship set by board and given to all who apply if they meet one of the needs based requirements listed in the supplement


First Nebraska Bank

1. One $300 Scholarship, One Alternate


Pekarek Ag-EBF Matching Funds Scholarship

1. One $500 Scholarship, One Alternate

2. Cannot exclude anyone who has already received an EBF Scholarship

3. Major must be in an ag-related degree (e.g. agronomy, horticultures, biological/agricultural engineering, soils, ALEC, Ag Econ, Ag Education, Mechanized systems Management etc.)

4. Be involved in at least two extra-curricular activities in both junior and senior year

5. Letter of recommendation from one person who has worked with you in your ag experiences


East Butler Foundation Video Scholarship

1. Up to $1000 Scholarship at the discretion of the Foundation

2. Cannot exclude anyone who has already received an EBF Scholarship

3. Applicant(s) are asked to create a video, no longer than 10 minutes in length, which best represents the theme, “It’s a Good Time To Be a Tiger Because…” Areas to be highlighted are (but not limited to):



  1. Academics

  2. Athletics/Activities

  3. Service Projects (ex. Food Drive, Pink Out, FBLA Toy Drive)

  4. Interviews with Administration

  5. Interviews with Faculty, Staff, and Students



Interview-EBF Matching Funds Scholarship

1. Up to $1500 Scholarship at the discretion of the Foundation

2. Applicant will be asked to present themselves to the Foundation Board at an Arranged Time

3. Cannot exclude anyone who has already received an EBF Scholarship

4. Interview to be a maximum of 10 minutes
Dean R. Rolfsmeier Scholarship (Seniors)

The amount will be determined as follows with no rounding up of grades:

a. East Butler will determine the base amount

b. GPA used will be the cumulative GPA at the end of the first semester of the senior year

c. “A” GPA students will receive three times the base amount

d. “B” GPA students will receive two times the base amount

e. “C/D” GPA students will receive the base amount
