In biological objects, there are also special mechanisms which maintain the rate 
of oxidation at a constant level. This includes enzymes responsible for the formation 
and death of active oxygen forms (superoxide dismutase, catalase) and involved in 
the decomposition and utilization of peroxides (glutathione peroxidase, glutathione 
reductase). The regulation of oxidation is also carried out by antioxidants present in 
biological material, in particular, ubiquinone, steroid hormones, vitamins E and C, 
carnosine, glutathione, prostaglandins, etc. [8] 
Conclusion. 
In conclusion, the mechanisms of action of free radicals in our body are 
mainly reflected in compounds that have double bonds in particles, such as proteins, 
enzymes, unsaturated fatty acids, polysaccharides, lipids, and DNA that are part of 
the cell wall. As the body absorbs nutrients to produce energy that keeps cells, 
tissues, and organs functioning, it also produces free radicals. 
Free radicals are formed in our body throughout life, and some of them are 
the result of vital processes related to metabolism, in which case they have a positive 
significance. For example, it destroys the pathogens of various diseases and thus 
strengthens our immune system.
The formation of organisms in the aging process and the development of 
diseases when our immunity is weakened for some reason is high, which is a 
disadvantage of the formation of free radicals.
