SBI waives off SMS charges 

State Bank of India has waived off SMS charges in 
addition to its penalty waiver on non-
maintenance of minimum balance for all its 
Savings Accounts. 

SBI has over 44 crore savings accounts. 

Earlier, SBI customers had to maintain an average 
monthly balance of 3000, 2000, and 1000 rupees 
in metro, semi-urban and rural areas respectively. 
Drone based surveillance system for Railway 

Indian Railways has introduced Drone-based 
surveillance system for Railway security. 

Nine drones have been procured by RPF so far at 
a cost of around 32 lakh at South Eastern Railway, 
Central Railway, Modern Coaching Factory, 
Raebareli and South Western Railway. 

These drones are capable of Real-Time Tracking 
and Video Streaming. 
Rail Bicycle introduced for inspections 

Indian Railways has introduced an innovative 
system to ensure passenger security in the 
country.

IR introduced a mechanism, Rail Bicycle to quickly 
travel on rail tracks for inspections, monitoring, 
and urgent repairs. 

With the help of Rail Bicycle, any emergency 
location can be easily reached for urgent repairs. 

It is also very helpful for Hot Weather Patrolling. 



Retired Air Vice Marshal Arjun Subramaniam will 
come out with a comprehensive account of war 
and conflict in contemporary India over the past



sequel to his book "India''s Wars: A Military 
History, 1947-1971". 

