Unhealthy habits can include:



  • Not eating breakfast or skipping any meals

  • Not being aware of calories and fats found in food

  • Eating unhealthy "junk foods" that are high in fat, sugar, or salt but low in nutritional value

  • Not drinking enough water

  • Eating too much or too little

  • Not eating foods high in essential nutrients (these are the foods that can be found on Canada's Food Guide)

Why is this a problem?

Eating unhealthy foods can lead to:



  • Obesity

  • Heart disease

  • Heart attacks

  • Stroke

  • Diabetes

Some other risks include:

  • less energy

  • lack of self-esteem

  • weak immune system

  • dehydration

  • weak muscles and bones
