These days, watching TV is quite common habit for young people. Especially children like watching television and spend over time sitting in front of it. Although there are several advantages of this, it can have some disadvantages as well. In this essay I will try to discuss both positives and negatives of this and draw a conclusion.

On the one hand, there tend to be several positives of children watching television. One of the main positive aspects of it is considered to learning foreign language. Usually, young people can learn some things better and faster than us. For instance, my brother and cousin are able to understand Russian videos without any difficulty in spite of their age. Another important benefit is thought to be getting information and broaden child’s worldview. This is because Anybody can watch television simply by sitting at home, News, movies, family shows, sports, music as well as other useful shows and channels can be seen on TV, It plays an important role in educating people about corruption, and they can increase their knowledge about the social and political world. On the other hand, despite mentioned positives, sitting in front of the telly can have disadvantages too. One of the major drawbacks of it is claimed to be wasting time. As we all know it is the biggest problem not only in children but in adults too. They should pay attention for study in spite of sitting in front of television.

Another important demerit is that children watching the program unsuitable. For example, children watch a violent program, then they imitate with their friend and injure a friend. So, when children watch TV, they should be controlled by adults.

In conclusion, while watching Tv can offer several positives, there may be some drawbacks too. From my personal point of view, advantages of it will outweigh the disadvantages.
