Comparative adjectives are used to compare differences between the two objects they modify, for example: large –larger, small – smaller. They are used in sentences where two nouns are compared, in this pattern: Noun (subject) + verb + comparative adjective + than + noun (object). We use “er” for comparative of one, two – syllable adjectives. For example: cheap – cheaper, hard – harder, clever- cleverer.
For comparative adjectives with two – three syllable we use the word “more” but we don’t change adjectives. For example: more modern, more carefully.
Some adjectives have irregular comparative forms. For example: good/well/better
bad/worse/worst. After comparatives we use than, as….as. For example: Jack is not as old as he looks. It is cheaper to go by car than to go by train.
1.Tick the adjectives you know.

2. a) Choose four adjectives from 1 that describe your character and four that don't. Write them on a piece of paper. Don't write them in order.
b) Work in pairs. Swap lists. Take turns to guess which four adjectives describe your partner.

1.Which is the most difficult to be: a child
a teenager, a middle-aged person, an elderly person? Why?
2.Which is the most difficult to live with? Why?
