Different kind of Transport
The word "transport" means to carry people or goods from place to place. Motor transport includes buses, lorries, motor coaches and motor cars. The main sources of power for any kinds of transport are engines: steam, electric, gas and internal combustion engine (ICE)*. In 1876the German engineer N. Otto introduced the first internal combustion engine in the form of gas engine. Since then motor transport began to spread in Europe rapidly. But it was Henry Ford, an American manufacturer, who designed the first motor car and made it realty popular. Buses were started into production in Paris in 1821. In 1828 they were introduced in London by G. Shillibeer who used the French name "Omnibus" which was obtained from the Latin word meaning "for all". First omnibuses were driven by horses but by 1912 new motor buses had replaced horse-driven ones. Trams appeared in the middle of the 19-th century. The idea was that as the rails ere smoother than roads, less effort was needed to pull a tram than a bus. The electric motor driving a tram was usually with electric current from overhead wires. Such wires are also used by trolleybuses, which run on rubber tires and do need rails. Another form of transport used in some highly – developed countries is underground railway. Tashkent underground is called "Metro” and it was opened in 1977.
