Dear friends, partners, participants of UzTextile Expo Spring 2022!
On behalf of the Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association and industry enterprises, 
I would like to welcome all guests and participants and express my gratitude for your interest in 
cooperation with representatives of the textile, clothing and knitwear industry of Uzbekistan. 
The beginning of 2022 has become historically significant for Uzbekistan, particularly for the 
national textile industry. 
The International Labor Organization has recognized Uzbekistan as a country free from any kind 
of forced labor.
At the same time, on March 10, the President of the international Cotton Campaign Coalition 
officially announced the end of the long-term «boycott» of Uzbek cotton, and called on world 
brands to work closely with textile manufacturers of Uzbekistan and support further development 
of the industry in the country. This is a victory for the textile industry of Uzbekistan, which, 
despite many factors, continued to develop thanks to the support provided by the Government of 
Uzbekistan and reforms carried out over the past five years.
This historic event, as well as the status of GSP +, opens up the door to the global market for 
Uzbek textile companies and creates opportunities for increasing exports of products, along with 
attractive environment for foreign investors in Uzbekistan. 
Over the past five years, there have been fundamental changes in the sector. A network of 
cotton-textile clusters has been created and continues to develop proving its high performance 
throughout the country. 
Uzbekistan is the only country in the world that over the last 25 years has managed to achieve 
domestic cotton processing up to 100%. The annual export of textile and clothing products 
exceeded USD3.04 billion by 1,250 companies. Every year, the Government provides new 
opportunities for exports and implementation of the international standards in the country. 
Therefore, it is very appropriate that the main regional exhibitions dedicated to the textile and 
clothing industry - UzTextile Expo and CAITME - are held in Uzbekistan, with participation of the 
recognized leaders in the production of textile products, clothing and semi-finished products, 
textile engineering and the most advanced technologies from Europe and Asia. This year 2022 
is no exception! 
I wish all participants and guests of UzTextile Expo Spring & Autumn 2022 and CAITME 2022 
International Exhibitions successful and fruitful work, strengthening their business contacts and 
signing new agreements!
