3.4. Stages and exercises for development of reading skills 
      
        At  the  primary  stage  reading  is  considered  as  the  goal  and  
means  of  teaching,  because  student  must  be  able  to  recognize  the 
English script, they must be familiar with combination of letters  in 
the  spelling  of  words,  and  be  able  to  recognize  words.  For  this 
purpose  reading  and  writing  mechanics  are  developed  together.  By 
mechanics  we  usually  refer  to  letter  and  sound  recognition, 
letter/sound  discrimination,  word  recognition,  and  basic  rules  of
