There are two possible projects in this unit. Strong PP may be able to do both of them. They should do at least the first one. Weaker PP can do only Project 2.

Objectives: to read for gist; to formulate complex ideas

Read the beginning of the text together with your PP and elicit if they can think of good and bad points about the Olympic Games. Then let PP begin activity 1, reading silently and finding ideas they agree with. They can add more ideas, if they want to.
