Description / Intended Use
Intraocular lenses (IOLs) are single piece ultraviolet-absorbing medical devices for the
treatment of aphakia. The IOLs are designed to be surgically implanted into the capsular bag of
the human eye as a replacement for the crystalline lens following phacoemulsification, with an
anterior continuous curvilinear capsulorrhexis covering the anterior edge of the IOL optic by 0.5
to 1.0 mm.

Indications
U.S. IOL Intraocular Lenses are indicated for primary implantation for the visual correction of
aphakia in adult patients where a cataractous lens has been removed by phacoemulsification.
The lenses are intended for placement in the capsular bag.
