Uncountable nouns. The absolute singular

Uncountable nouns used in singular denote: 

a) abstract notions, e.g.: 

advice, charity, education, employment, experience, facility, information, insurance, knowledge, 

morale, membership, news, security, space, time, work, etc.; 

 

b) processes, e.g.: , 

absorption, access, consumption, depression, development, distribution, export, import, 

production, progress, research, saving, spending, etc. 

 

 

Exercise 3. Complete the sentences with the correct form, singular or plural, of the nouns 

in brackets. 

1. Thank you for the (information) concerning the schedule. 

2. There is a lot of (information) in the encyclopedia.
