Michael Burnett, Head Varsity Football Coach
Coach Burnett has been coaching football for twelve seasons and prior to taking the job at Tuscarora High School, he served as the Head Football Coach at Broad Run High School and Santa Monica High School in California. At Broad Run, he led the Spartans to two state championships and twenty-eight consecutive victories, while accumulating a record of 43-6. He was named the Washington Redskins Coach of the year in 2008 and the VHSCA AA Coach of the year in 2008. He was also named the Virginia Preps AA Coach of the Year and Gameday Magazine AA Coach of the Year in both 2008 and 2009. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine where he played Varsity Football and Basketball and received his law degree from the University of Washington, in Seattle. Coach Burnett is married to Kimberly Burnett, and has two sons, Jack and Sam.
Mr. Miles is looking forward to the opportunity to build the Husky football program from the very beginning stages. Previously, Mr. Miles worked as the Running Backs’ coach at Broad Run High School from 2007 to 2009. While at Broad Run, he helped the program win 38 out of 39 games and back-to-back state championships. Mr. Miles is currently the band director at Eagle Ridge Middle School.
Mr. Fortune has been coaching football for ten seasons. Prior to joining the Tuscarora High School Football program, he served as an Assistant Football Coach at Broad Run High School. At Broad Run, he was part of two state championships and twenty-eight consecutive victories. He currently teaches Physical Education at Catoctin Elementary School in Leesburg. He earned a Bachelors of Science degree from Frostburg State University. Mr. Fortune currently lives in Frederick, MD with his wife, Jennifer, who is a third grade teacher at Lucketts Elementary School.
Coach Fletcher is entering his fifth year coaching football. Prior to joining the Tuscarora High School Football program, he served as a JV and Varsity Assistant Football Coach at Broad Run High School. He helped coach the Spartans to two state championships and twenty-eight consecutive victories, while accumulating a record of 43-6. A native of Sterling, VA, Coach Fletcher graduated from George Mason University with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education. He currently teaches at Farmwell Station Middle School in Ashburn. Coach Fletcher and his wife Trisha, have one daughter, Taryn.
Mr. Snyder served as the Varsity Assistant Girls’ Basketball Coach last year at Heritage High School and was the Head Junior Varsity Coach for two years prior to that. In 2007 and 2008 he served as a freshman and varsity assistant Football coach at Park View High School. As an athlete himself, he played high school football and basketball in the state of Pennsylvania. He went on to play college football at Frostburg State University, where he was named an All-Conference wide receiver his junior and senior seasons and was named the team’s offensive player of the year in 2004. Mr. Snyder is currently teaching Health and Physical Education at Smart's Mill Middle School.
Robert A. Smart: A native of Springfield Georgia graduated in 1994 with a BS in Sociology from James Madison University. He played Strong Safety and Corner for the Dukes from 90-94 and participated in the 1st round of the Division I Championship against Marshall University in 1991. He coached the defensive backs and wide receivers for Irwin County High School in Ocilla Georgia and he coached with Charlie Pierce at Briar Woods High School in Ashburn Virginia. Robert is the Safety and Security Specialist and Varsity Assistant basketball coach at Heritage High School. He is also the owner of the Vision Sports a sports performance company that has trained athletes such as Eddie Royal from the Denver Broncos and many other that are currently playing college football and basketball. Robert and his wife Lolita have 3 children, Breana (15), Christina (12) and Robert Jr. 11.
