From ancient times the textile products and pottery was one the traditional crafts
in Uzbekistan. World-known adras and atlas is now used in fashion industry and
considered as one of the finest tastes and colors in the world. The pottery products of
Uzbekistan became a must have souvenirs for the tourists arriving to Uzbekistan. Those
arts and crafts not only used for economic gain but also to spread the Uzbek culture all
over the world.
9. Language including learning or practice. Uzbek language is a Turkic language
written in the Latin alphabet, many foreigners started to arrive just to learn these
languages. Besides, some international universities in India, Turkey and other countries
have Uzbek philology classes. Day by day the interest to Uzbek language is increasing
and in near future it is expected that more numbers of tourists will arrive to Uzbekistan
for that purposes.
10. Gastronomy wine tasting, food sampling, cookery courses. Uzbek cuisine is
famous in CIS countries and now is turning into the global acceptance after the
traditional meal of Central Asian countries Plov is included in the UNESCO World
heritage list. Besides, Uzbek cuisine is rich with other famous dishes, such as shorpa,
dimlama, qozan kabob, samsa, achiq chuchuk and many other meals. The tourism
attraction in that type of cultural tourism needs further investments and promotion. It
is one of the cultural tourism types where the preserving is not significant and requires
more promotion and utilization. Besides the meals, we have also famous fruits and
vegetables that are also part of our culture.
11. Industry and commerce (e.g. factory visits, mines, breweries and distilleries,
canal trips). Because of the slow development in industry and commerce in Uzbekistan,
such type of cultural tourism is underdeveloped.
12. Modern popular culture for example, pop music, shopping, fashion, media,
design, technology. Uzbekistan is not famous for its modern popular culture and many
tourists find it out of dated. Therefore it is not considered as a tourist attraction feature
in Uzbekistan.
13. Special interest activities such as painting, photography, weaving. Finally
the last typology of cultural tourism is about special interest activities, the one that
attracts cultural tourists is the weaving. The crafts of making adras and atlas in
Uzbekistan. Many tourists visit Uzbekistan just to experience weaving and take part in
the process. Above were the typologies of cultural tourism, however, it is unwise to
analyze the cultural tourism without the analysis of the cultural tourists.
