INTRODUCTION (abstract of the thesis of the doctor of philosophy (PhD)) 
 
The purpose of the study is to 
develop specific proposals and practical 
recommendations for the future development and improvement of agricultural 
insurance. 
The research objectives
are as follows: 
determination of the nature of risks in agriculture, their classification and 
position in the field of insurance ; 
to classify the risks of agricultural enterprises by identifying and summarizing 
them ; 
defining the role of the state in the development of agricultural insurance; 
critical analysis of the state of agricultural risk insurance in the national 
insurance market; 
study of best practices of developed countries in the field of agricultural 
insurance and development of scientific proposals and recommendations for their 
implementation; 
identification of factors, problems hindering the development of agricultural 
risk insurance and the formation of recommendations for their solution; 
introduction of new types of agricultural risk insurance, development of 
scientifically based proposals and practical recommendations on the development of 
a set of measures for development.
