An Expressway to be named after former PM 

The Gwalior-Chambal Expressway will be named 
Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Chambal Progressway. 

This was announced by MP CM Shivraj Singh 
Chauhan while paying tribute to former Prime 
Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his second death 
anniversary. 

Atal Bihari Vajpayee served as the Prime Minister 
of India for 3 terms. first in 1996, second between 
1998-1999, and third from 1999-2004. 
MPEDA opens quality control lab in Porbandar 

The Marine Products Export Development 
Authority (MPEDA) has opened a quality control 
laboratory in Porbandar, Gujarat. 

It will facilitate tests for seafood processors and 
exporters to conform to product safety as per 
international regulatory requirements. 

The laboratory is equipped with advanced testing 
instruments to analyse antibiotic residues, heavy-
metals in seafood samples. 
IIM-K inks pact with Swiss firm 

IIM Kozhikode and Switzerland-based HELP 
Logistics have inked an MoU to engage in a 
collaborative partnership and provide consulting 
services and logistics training for the 
humanitarian community. 

The MoU will be in force for a year. 

It will carry out activities that integrate efforts to 
shape supply chains that benefit humanity. 

It aims to develop humanitarian logistics in India. 
IIT Madras wins first place in Atal ranking 

IIT Madras has retained its position as the top 
‘innovative educational institution’ in the country 
for the second consecutive year. 

Atal Ranking of institutions on Innovation 
Achievements (ARIIA) was announced on 18 Aug 
2020 by Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu. 

ARIIA was launched in 2019 by the Innovation Cell 
of the Ministry of Education (formerly Ministry of 
HRD).
