Annotation. The study of Yassavi‘s works, which gave rise to the genre of wisdom in 

Uzbek  classical  literature,has  always  attracted  the  attention  of  literary  critics.The  poet‘s 

literary heritage has been studied from a textual point of view. The article comments on the 

coverage of Yassavi‘s work in school literature textbooks.Ethical and educational proverbs of 

the author are analyzed. The school‘s literature classes focused on the methods that can be 

used  to  study  the  activities  of  classical  figures,  in  particular,  to  memorize  the  wisdomof 

Yassavi, to understand their contect, and to become acquainted with the system of images. 

Emphasis  is  placed  on  the  poet‘s  interpretation  of  human  qualities  found  in  the  text  of 

proverbs condemningsocial injustice and glorifying science and enlightenment.As a result, 

Yassavi‘s work has a special place in the history of  Uzbek classical literature.Students are 

encouraged to use proverbs that are not included in the textbook for further study.
