The study of the categories of singular and plural in the linguistics of uzbek language

Opinions on the expression of the plural in the Uzbek language are found in Abdurauf Fitrat's "An Experiment on the Rules of the Uzbek Language, Book One: Expenditure." The scientist emphasizes that in order to express primitive and artificial nouns in the plural, it is necessary to add the suffix -s to them.

In 1943, prof. A.K. Borovkov, Z. Marufov, A. Gulyamov created a textbook "Grammar of the Uzbek language" for secondary schools. Despite its shortcomings and shortcomings, this textbook has undoubtedly played an important role in improving the teaching of the mother tongue in Uzbek schools.

It is also noteworthy that this textbook is the first to cover the rules of the Uzbek language. In the years following the Second World War, a number of manuals and textbooks were created for universities. They contain some ideas on the expression of the plural in the Uzbek language. Among the works in this area is the work on the grammar of the Uzbek language in Russian V.V. Reshetov's "Modern Uzbek language. Element phonetics, morphology and syntax ”(1948), A.N. Kononov's book "Grammar of the Uzbek language" (1948) is especially valuable as a systematic interpretation of the Uzbek language.

The work, dedicated to the complex scientific and academic description of the Uzbek literary language, was first published in 1957 under the title "Modern Uzbek language" under the editorship of F. Kamolov. Written by a group of linguists working at the Institute of Language and Literature of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan and a number of higher educational institutions of the republic, the book describes the lexical structure, phonetic system and grammatical structure of the Uzbek language.
