INTRODUCTION

Even at the dawn of the development of human society, philosophers, thinkers and writers thought about creating a universal, universal language, devoid of the shortcomings of naturally occurring sign systems, so the topic of fictional languages has always been a subject of interest for both scientific and fiction. Artificially created languages are designed to solve the problems of the communication barrier, to be simple and understandable in learning for speakers of different languages, and fictional languages, as a representation of artificial languages in fiction, were used by authors of works of various genres to solve problems specific to this type of art. In the 20th century, such a literary genre as dystopia gained particular popularity; fictional languages are an integral part of many works of this genre.1 Fictional languages are used by writers to solve a wide range of problems: to reflect the specifics of civilization and culture, to reflect the author's ideas about culture, or to reflect the possibilities of propaganda within a bureaucratized totalitarian state. Regardless of the task performed by a fictional text incorporated into a work of art, it plays a significant role in its poetics.
The relevance of this work is determined by the need to further study the features of the functioning of fictional languages within the genre of dystopia.
The object of this study is the text of a classic dystopian novel, G. Orwell's work "1984".
