How to Use This Book
Ideally I’d like everyone to read every word of this book but I know in the real
world  that’s  not  always  possible.  That’s  why  it  is  divided  into  practical  and
theory chapters.
The  practical  chapters  contain  the  actual  joke  writing  methods  that  you  can  do
whenever  you  want.  I  have  created  this  flow  chart  to  help  you  find  your  way
around  them.  If  you  only  have  time  to  read  one  bit  of  theory,  I  recommend
What’s Most Important: Time, Tenacity or Talent? (Chapter 8), closely followed
by  Background  Processing  (Chapter  2).  Or  why  not  do  the  practical  exercises
when you have time to write and read the theory chapters in bed or on the train.
