They were the same students in the same test. The same test was administered to all three groups. The marks of written component were taken separately. Marks are given out of 10 in this component too.


As described in the above section (4.1), the measures of central tendency justify the group variability: according to the test scores, while the performances of the learners in the same group did not vary considerably, significant variability could be noted in ‘between group performances’.


The raw scores of the twenty six learners are given above: the measures of central tendency in organizational competence are summarized below:

Measures of central tendency ( written test component)

These measures also suggest that scores were not widely distributed within the group: standard deviation values are 1.25, 0.85 and 0.90 respectively. However, the mean values are significantly different: 8.20, 5.33, and 2.08. They are best viewed in the following graph:

Each group is homogeneous but ‘between group variability’ is significant.





Test scores can be more meaningfully interpreted by means of understanding measures of central tendency.
