The line graph illustrates data about the total of goods transported in the UK by four contrastive modes of transport between 1974 and 2002, in the period of 28 years. Overall, road and water transportation experienced more quantity of goods than the amount transferred by pipelines and rails in United Kingdom.

According to the road system in 1974, about 70 million tones of products were transported on the road, while less than 40 million tones was transferred via water. In 2002, the transportation of goods via road reached to approximately 100 million tons with some fluctuations over the years, while the water transports were used for shipping goods rose to more than 60 million tons in 2002, except decreasing to 45 million tons in 1998.
Regarding to transportation of goods via pipeline experienced the least quantity of reserves around 6 million tons in 1974, while 40 million tones was delivered via railways in this same year. Using of railway system for conveying supplies decreased to the between 30 and 37 million tons till 1998 but finally, it increased to 40 million tons in 2002. Reserves which were carried by pipelines showed an upward trend over the years and finally, reached to 20 million tons in 2002.
