"The Skeptic - Alchemist or Commentary on the Experiments Made of Mixed Bodies as Proofs of the Four Elements and the Three Chemical Principles" the theory of alchemy was severely criticized. It can be said that from this period chemistry began to develop as a science. At the end of the 17th century, the German chemist G. Stahl created the theory of phlogiston. Although this theory was also wrong, it was very important for its time. Because the scientists of that time completely got rid of alchemy based on this theory. At the beginning of the 18th century, the Russian scientist MV Lomonosov proved that the mass of metal does not change no matter how much it is heated in a closed vessel, thus proving that the phlogiston theory is wrong.
Based on Lomonosov's experiment, the French scientist A. Lavoisier proved that when metal is heated, it reacts with oxygen in the air. Lavoisier created the correct scientific theory of combustion and oxidation processes. In 1808, the English scientist Dalton created his atomistic theory based on his experiments and determined the ratio of chemical elements in a compound. In 1869, the creation of the periodic table of elements by DIMendeleyev and the appearance of evidence proving the complex structure of the atom at the beginning of the 20th century, chemistry is wide. opened the way for its development. In recent years, great work has been carried out in the development of chemical science and chemical industry in Uzbekistan. In the development of chemistry in Uzbekistan, academicians S.Yu. Yunusov, OS Sodikov, MN Nabiyev, HUUsmanov, KSAhmedov and others have made great contributions.
