Discussion

After students have spoken to their partner again about
who will get each job, take a whole-class vote on who should
get jobs.
SuGGeSTeD AnSWeRS:
Each candidate has a weakness revealed. The question is
whether the weakness is serious enough to mean they should
not get the job.
Thomas Visser may have trouble handling complaints; there
are no references for Panayota Mitropoulis. It is unlikely
that Panayota would get the job because she doesn’t have
particularly relevant experience or qualifications.
Francesca is unpopular with other employees; Miroslav is often
late. Perhaps Miroslav’s weakness can be changed.

Ask the students to look at the job pages of a well-known
English newspaper and find an advertisement which
attracts them. They should then tell the others in the group
about the post and the conditions, and what they like about
the job.
