• Large number of persons seeking medical attention
• Multiple victims exhibiting similar symptoms
• Multiple casualties without obvious signs of trauma

Treating Others

• First priority for a CERT member is personal safety
• Take self-protective measures only
• Do not attempt to treat victims in contaminated area
• Tell victims about decontamination procedures
• Tell those that try to leave that they should wait for professional first responders
• Leave care and treatment to the professionals: CERT is not equipped or trained for Terrorist incidents
• Remember a WMD event is a crime scene
