Task 1. Write information on the topic: Brands.
What brand companies do you know?
Why do you think some people dislike brands?
a ) Brand - a complex of ideas, opinions, associations, emotions, value characteristics about a product or service in the mind of a consumer; the mental shell of a product or service - a brand is an abstract name. The physical components (carriers) of the brand are the whole complex of corporate identity elements: the brand name (word, phrase), the logo (trademark) with the principles of its construction, the corporate color palette that supports the corporate identity, original graphics, a set of phrases, sounds, trademark, etc. other.
The largest marketplace in the world, Amazon, began its history with a small garage - then (it was 1994) there were only a couple of computers.
IBM is an American company, the world's largest manufacturer, supplier of hardware and software.
Everyone knows about the Disney brand - it brings real happiness to adults and children! Walt Disney is an example of someone who was able to make the American Dream come true.
Coca-Cola is the most popular soft drink on the planet! Even if you rarely use it, you still always hear it.
The history of the famous McDonald's began with a small restaurant in the town of San Bernardino, founded in 1940, which was opened by the MacDonald brothers - Maurice and Richard.
b) Fashion is dying. Polls show that modern people are abandoning clothing to go out and are increasingly wearing jeans and T-shirts. Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs showed the whole world that a billionaire can walk in the most ordinary clothes. And the world liked it.
There are too many cheap clothes and brands mean little. And if in Russia people save on clothes because of the unstable economic situation, then in the USA they refuse brands out of principle. Buyers prefer cheap basic things, because their quality is no different from branded ones, and you will not surprise anyone with a tag.
Task 2. What kind of people are most famous in your country today?
a) Why are there so many stories about famous people in the news?
b) Do you agree or disagree that many young people today want to be famous?
a)They are successful, talented and loved by millions of fans. Actors, athletes, musicians, directors who were born in Uzbekistan: someone chose to live and work in their country, but the whole world learned about someone's success. But, despite the popularity, each of them still considers Uzbekistan their homeland and tries to visit their favorite cities whenever possible. "Open Asia Online" tells about Uzbek people who have become famous far beyond the borders of their country.
Ravshan Irmatov is not just a famous person, he is a real national hero, because thanks to him, Uzbek football became known throughout the world. The sports achievements of the referee from Uzbekistan are highly appreciated at the most prestigious football championships and in international sports ratings, and experts call him the most promising referee of world football due to the record number of matches served at the world championships.
The future Olympic champion was born in the Andijan region, where there were absolutely no conditions for sports. Then the coach believed in the novice athlete and took the boy to Tashkent so that he could be included in the main team and began to train for real. After that Ruslan entered the Republican College of the Olympic Reserve. Today the athlete performs in the weight category up to 105 kg. In 2013, he was the first Uzbek athlete to win the World Championship in Poland. In 2014 he broke the world record in Almaty. And in 2016 Ruslan Nurutdinov became the Olympic champion in Rio de Janeiro - he lifted a barbell weighing 237 kilograms from his chest. In the same year, by decision of the Royal Institute for Islamic Studies of Jordan in Amman, Ruslan Nurutdinov was included in the list of 500 influential Muslims in the world.
b)There is nothing wrong with the interest of modern youth today in becoming famous, but the path they have chosen to achieve fame can be bad. Nowadays, it is easier and faster to become famous in any good way, that is, by doing any bad deeds, such as using "black PR", than to be famous for showing one's talent. To take Tik-Tok as an example, videos full of all sorts of nonsense are more popular and in demand than videos that teach a person something new that nourishes them spiritually. I don't think such fame will last a lifetime. I am against such a way of becoming famous.
