Abstract 
The article provides a classification of methods of contour blasting underground mining of mineral deposits. The first type includes two methods depending on the ab-
sence or presence of idle holes, the second 
–
 also two methods depending on the direction of contour holes to the formed surface. In this case, the method with the location 
of the holes parallel to the contour surface is divided into varieties depending on the design of the charge, the presence or absence of air axial gaps and the diameter of the 
charge.
