For people who like to get up and go - but don’t want to go alone - the TCC
Trips and Tours program provides the solution.
Using a bus or van, a driver, and knowledgeable travel escorts, we plan the
itinerary and deal with the details.
Bavarian Maifest in Leavenworth
Celebrate spring in Bavaria! Experience the Grand March and Procession, including townspeople dressed in traditional Bavarian garb, horses and carriages, Leavenworth’s Bierwagen, Bernese Mountain Dogs and more. Experience live oompa music and traditional German dancing including the Maipole Dance. Stroll through the Bavarian Village of Flowers and visit Art in the Park. A provided spaghetti lunch will be enjoyed at the local senior center.

Skagit Culinary Delights
Visit these unique farms and stores that produce some of the freshest organic and artisan products in the valley. First stop is the Bread Farm located in the rural village of Edison, along scenic Chuckanut Drive. Their artisan breads are made totally of organic ingredients. Then we’re off to lunch at the Oyster Bar, before a tour of the Taylor Shellfish Farm where you’ll learn about farming shellfish and shucking oysters. Our final stop will be for cheese tasting and a tour of the Samish Bay Cheese Farm. They don’t really grow cheese, but actually produce fine artisan cheeses made from the organic dairy on Rootabaga Country Farm. Learn about the many benefits of eating meats, fruit and vegetables raised totally organically. We’ll have a cooler on board so you can bring back some of the many delicacies you’ll come across on this wonderful tour.

Olympic Sculpture Park, Asian Art Museum and Conservatory in Volunteer Park
Explore the vibrant, 8½ acres of green space which exhibits extraordinary sculptures in the Seattle Art Museum’s newest project. Wagon Train Ride on the John Wayne Pioneer Trail

oard your covered wagon at Iron Horse Ranch near Thorp at the top of the Yakima Canyon rim with spectacular views of the Yakima River. kandia Midsommarfest
Experience this traditional Swedish celebration of the summer solstice, recreated in as authentic a manner as possible, complete with the raising of a garlanded Midsommar pole, a serpentine dance around the pole, and hundreds of costumed musicians and dancer-traditions practiced in Sweden for centuries. The festival has expanded to include contributions from all Nordic and Baltic countries to add to the rich experience of cultural diversity of all these lands. Many traditional craftspeople will be demonstrating their skills and selling their wares. Traditional Midsommar food and other Scandinavian delicacies will be offered.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Departure Times and Trip Rates
Times and rates are subject to change. It is YOUR responsibility to contact Tacoma Community College at 253.566.5020 - 24 hours prior to the scheduled trip date to confirm departure times. Unless otherwise noted, all trips depart from South Park Community Center and Tacoma Community College - Parking Lot G near the corner of 12th and Mildred streets, in front of Building #3, the Auditorium. Please refer to map. Please state your pick up point when registering.
Cancellations
A written refund request must be received at least 7 calendar days before the trip. Then, the trip fee minus a $20 processing fee will be returned to the traveler. Please allow 3-4 weeks for processing. The student may transfer the full trip fee, minus any prepaid tickets, meals, etc. to another trip within 90 days of submitting their written request or they may transfer the full payment to a replacement traveler.
Trip Cancellations
Cancellations by Tacoma Community College will be determined two (2) weeks before day trips are scheduled to depart and thirty (30) days before overnight trips are scheduled to depart.
Passenger Etiquette

All passengers must wait to board the bus until the trip escort has completed boarding passengers with disabilities.

All seats are available on a first come, first serve basis, with the exception of the first two front rows on each bus, which will be reserved for travelers with walkers and canes. No assigned seating. There will be no rotation of seats on trips.

Anyone causing disruption during a trip may be asked to discontinue their participation in future trips and tours with Tacoma Community College.

Do not wear perfume. Many people are allergic to scents.
Tipping
It is strictly prohibited to tip Tacoma Community College paid or volunteer staff. Tipping of chartered drivers is optional.
Discrimination
Tacoma Community College does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, sexual orientation or age in its programs and activities.
Disabilities
Any physical disability requiring special boarding assistance must be reported at the time of registration. A traveling companion, who is capable and responsible to provide such assistance, must accompany the passenger requiring special assistance for a mental or physical limitation. If a person has motion sickness and requires a seat near the front, they must present a doctor’s notice prior to the day of the trip and staff will try to accommodate their needs.
Forms
If you have not already done so for 2008, please be sure to bring your completed and signed Medical Information Form. You will be asked for this form upon boarding and will not be able to board until we have the completed form. All passengers are required to sign the Liability and Photo Release Document prior to boarding. You will need to sign this document before EACH trip you are scheduled to attend.
