Choose a primary study location.
Organise a place to study 
which will be your base for your online work. You don’t always 
have to work from there, but it will be your primary study lo-
cation. If you have a central base for studying, your brain will 
subconsciously associate the location with studies.

Agree with others on your priorities. 
Unless you live alone, you 
will need to negotiate with the rest of the household about your 
quiet times and the need to share broadband connections.

Plan your room. 
Make sure you set up the room so that it works 
for studying. Online studies mean you will be on your own in 
front of a computer for long periods of time. So setting up the 
room properly at the outset will reap the rewards later.

Sort out the technology in advance. 
For anyone studying online, 
there is a dependence upon technology. So make sure you have 
the proper hardware and software in place and that you have or-
ganised things like backups and scheduling software before you 
start studying.
