Making a recording of a PowerPoint presentation is possible using 
the system built in to the program. Once you have completed your 
PowerPoint slides and you know what you want to say, you can go 
to the “Recording” menu and press the “Record Slide Show” but-
ton. If the “Recording” menu is not visible, click on “Options”, se-
lect “Customise Ribbon”, and then in the right-hand column, you 
can select “Recording” to make it visible. 
Once you have pressed the recording button, the screen will 
change, and you will see the “Slide Show” version of your slides. 
Tere are icons that allow you to switch the audio and camera on 
and of, though I have no idea why you would want to do that if 
you are making a video recording. Once you are happy with the 
settings, you can press the record icon, you will get a countdown 
on the screen, and you can then begin speaking and click through 
the slides. Te system also allows you to use highlighting and a 
laser pointer while you are talking so that you can point out spe-
cifc elements of your slides. Once you have fnished, you can save 
the presentation, and you will see your video image in the bottom 
right of each slide. When the presentation is run in Slide Show 
form, your video and sound are automatically played, and the 
slides are moved forward.

the “Save As” option and save them as a MPEG-4 video fle.
