Independent Study Skills Class has enabled me to identify my problem areas in academia and to find ways to deal with them through a number of assignments. Each task was aimed to help the students explore ways of becoming independent to conduct research, evaluate their work and assess it as well as using Time and Task Management skills effectively. It was both interesting and beneficial to submit these assignments which assissted to learn about myself, unlike other subjects that mainly focused on professional development rather than personal.
It is remarkable to note that I have already started applying these skills in my studies. They are helping me to manage various tasks from different subjects. For example, from Linguistics Class I was assigned a project which I was to finish in three days. I could handle it due to my Research and Time Management Skills acquired from ISS. This, therefore, shows that I have become autonomous student.
