- Feride is the protagonist of the novel, and the first four chapters of the work are told in her language. Feride, who lost her mother in Mosul at the age of six, began living with her grandmother in Istanbul. At the age of nine, her grandmother died. Her father sent her to a French girls' school called Dam do Zion, where she could stay. During the holidays, Feride stays at her aunt's house. Feride was a girl who didn't stay in school or with her relatives, who was very violent, naughty, climbed a tree, and could not stand any bullying. Her teacher nicknamed her "Cholikushi" when she saw Faride crawling from branch to branch during school breaks. Unbeknownst to him, his aunt loves Kamron and is always jealous of him from a young, beautiful widow named Narimon.
