Physical Education
STUDENT EXPECTATIONS
Appropriate Dress/Participation:

You are encouraged to wear clothing that allows you to move freely and safely, and that adheres to the school dress code policy.

If you do not dress properly for physical education class, you will not be permitted to participate. If you do not participate, there will be points deducted from your grade, and you may have to complete a written assignment. NO EXCEPTIONS

If you are dressed appropriately, but do not participate, there will also be points deducted from your grade.
Class Procedures:

If you are late to class, the school tardiness policy will be implemented.

Attendance is taken daily. If you are not here, you will be marked absent. If your absence is excused, IT IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO LET ME KNOW WITHIN ONE WEEK, SO THAT POINTS WILL NOT BE DEDUCTED FROM HIS/HER GRADE.

Please respect the gym by not chewing gum.
Make-Up Policy:

Students who fail to take a test/quiz/project due to an absence will have ONE WEEK to make it up. However, it is the student’s responsibility to make the arrangements.
Grading Policy:
-
In this class, students will be graded on participation/dress, skill performance/improvement, and cognitive understanding/written assignments. The skill areas that will be taught are as follows: Aerobics, Basketball, Cooperative Games, Floor Hockey, Football, Soccer, Softball/Baseball, Volleyball, and Weight Training/Fitness.
- **SCHOOL POLICY**: If a student misses 7 or more unexcused days of school, they will receive a ZERO
- Students are expected to participate at all times

15% of Grade: Quizzes and Skills Tests
- Students will be graded on their performance and improvement in each of the areas. Also, there will be quizzes given for some units.

25% of Grade: Final Project
- Students will create their own game and teach it to the class
