The purpose of this report is to discuss and explain my experiences during my practicum exercise. The exercise was designed by the department to expose undergraduates to a minimum of four weeks’ practical applications of learned theories, principles and ethics of administration.
During my practicum, I worked regularly with English teachers and became acquainted with and learned about the school’s internal procedures. I have observed the teaching process of teachers and the various teaching methods needed for the teaching process, the application of new pedagogical technologies in the classroom, as well as the use of non-traditional teaching methods and, most importantly, as a teacher. I observed and learned to communicate correctly and effectively with the bird. Create a lesson plan with the help of English teachers, write an independent synopsis for lessons, use it, organize the lesson correctly, relevant materials, visual aids, handouts, exercises, games related to the topics. I learned to prepare, to work with all students equally, to be involved in the lesson, to motivate the students, to organize the time distribution properly, and I also taught the students independently. I benefited from what I learned from the teachers.
During my practicum, I observed a number of open lessons and learned how to organize them, what to pay more attention to, and how to make open lessons fun and effective.
At the same time, I tried to take an active part in public affairs at the school. I regularly participated in spirituality classes. In the process of observing the spiritual hours, I learned to carry out spiritual and educational work based on the work plan of the group leader. I learned to work with and support low-achieving students. I was helped by the guidance of the class leaders.
I also participated in several events during my internship and assisted my teachers in organizing them. I also organized my own event. Of course, the help of teachers and students at the school was a great help.
I am confident that the knowledge and experience I have gained during this internship and in the later stages will help me a lot in my future career and, of course, in becoming a highly qualified professional.
I came to school at 08:00 every day for this practicum. I worked with 8th graders. First of all, the school building is clean, all the conditions for students are created in the classrooms. Each room is warm, decorated with flowers, equipped with modern teaching equipment. Students and teachers come to school every day in school uniforms.
There will be 5-6 science lessons every day. We tried to follow the lessons at the end of the room.
Classes are conducted by qualified teachers in a way that is understandable to students. The lesson begins with the teacher and students greeting each other, and the teacher conducts a free conversation with the students in order to draw their attention to the lesson. The questions and answers were interesting in order to reinforce the theme of the previous lesson. The new topic was then explained on the board. In the process of explaining, I learned a lot from the teachers. The topic was easily explained to the students through interesting information from various games. During my practicum, I observed a number of open lessons and learned how to organize them, what to pay more attention to, and how to make open lessons fun and effective.
The lessons I have observed during this practicum have been very useful to me and I will try to use the same methods in the future.
During my 4-week internship, I worked a lot with English teachers. From them, I learned how to communicate easily with students, how to check tasks exactly, and how to assign tasks the most effectively. It’s a little hard to find language with students these days. But the teachers at this school were able to do it easily. In addition to the topic of the lesson, I was amazed that the teachers had a separate conversation with the students and helped them solve their problems together. And shortly before the end of the lesson, they told interesting facts and answered the questions of the students. at the same time, I have observed and learned to use non-traditional teaching methods and, most importantly, to communicate correctly and effectively with the student as an educator. Create a lesson plan with the help of English teachers, write an independent synopsis for lessons, use it, organize the lesson correctly, relevant materials, visual aids, handouts, exercises, games related to the topics. I found the note-taking process itself helpful, as it ensured that I listened carefully and decoded information. Not all the information I recorded was relevant but noting what I found informative contributed to my ability to form an overview on re-reading. However, the reliability of jotted notes alone can be questionable. For example, the notes were not a direct transcription of what the subjects said but consisted of pertinent or interesting information.
Rarely did I have time to transcribe a direct quotation, so relied on my own fairly rapid paraphrasing, which risks changing the meaning. Some technical information was difficult to note down accurately. A tape recorder would have been a better, more accurate method. However, one student brought a tape recorder and was asked to switch it off by a participant who was uneasy about her comments being directly recorded. It seems that subjects feel differently about being recorded or photographed (as opposed to observers taking notes), so specific consent should be sought before using these technologies.
