1 Write down the words your trainer dictates. Then check your spelling with a partner.
2 Work in pairs. Discuss the meanings of these words and see if you agree on them.
3 Count the letters and the sounds in each word. For example:
letter = six letters (L-E-T-T-E-R) and four sounds (I-e-tt-er)
4 Work in pairs. Discuss what the activity demonstrates about the sound-spelling relationship in English.
