There is a wide-held belief that social networking sites are positive. While they can be advantageous, I overall feel that detrimental effects might occur.

Apparently, such sites can be beneficial as there are manifold reasons. As a first point, people can easily get to know what is happening around the world with the help of social networks. Therefore, they could assist people to be aware of the latest events and hidden news. Additionally, using these sites can result in relaxation. That is to say, while going through social media, people make their mind obtain a sense of relaxation as the sites do that job flawlessly. To exemplify, There are a handful of entertaining videos on Instagram, which you can enjoy watching them. Finally, they are one of the best platforms for business especially advertising. People might advertise their own products as it seems to be easy to make your product appealing among people. In these cases, social media platforms can obviously be positive.

Nevertheless, this does not mean social networking sites cannot have negative aspects. To begin with, the internet surfers could easily lose their valuable time as they have already got obsessed with these networks. As a result, this could bring about the lack of socialism. Ironically, children, who are accustomed to going out and doing physical activities, are now getting addicted to social networks. Moreover, networking platforms can affect the loss of privacy. Since they do not guarantee your privacy, there are still holes in which you are more likely to bring your privacy out even though they endeavor to protect you. Hence, networking sites can be somehow undesirable.

In sum, social media sites might be beneficial to some extent. However, it seems to me that this does not mean they are always positive.
