The SPS uses the distributed structure. The function modules of each software are distributed in different boards or servers. Carriers can configure function modules based on network requirements. Modules of the same type work in active/standby or load-sharing mode to prevent service interruption caused by a single point of failure, thereby enhancing network reliability.

Otherwise, the signaling service processing system (SPS) provides protocol processing and service processing functions and the processes of the BE are not required.

  The BE provides subscriber data storage, access, management functions and consists of the subscriber data management subsystem, data service subsystem, data storage subsystem.
